Autoclave with Innovative Solutions that Suit Your Needs!

Tuttnauer autoclaves are specially designed for your advanced laboratory applications. They provide high quality repeatable performance and accountability for a wide range of applications used in modern laboratories, such as:

  • Liquid sterilization (using two flexible PT100 probes) with various cooling options
  • Pipette and Glass sterilization
  • Instrument sterilization (wrapped or unwrapped)
  • Biohazard and Waste sterilization
  • Agar preparation
  • Specialized custom cycles

Fast Liquid Cooling

Sterilizing liquids requires a long heating and cooling time for completing a cycle.  To overcome this long cycle, Tuttnauer autoclaves include advanced optional fast cooling features, which protect your liquid media, saves time and also energy. What is fast cooling technology?

When a liquid is cooled quickly it can over boil and even cause damage to the glass containers containing the liquid.  To prevent this situation sterile air is pumped into the autoclave chamber in order increase the chamber pressure and boiling temperature which prevents over boil, load deformation, cracks or spills. Cold water is then circulated through cooling pipes that rapidly reduces the chamber temperature and that of the liquid load to a safe temperature.  The cooling is accelerated by operating a convection fan inside the chamber.

Tuttnauer’s innovative fast liquid cooling technology reduces cycle time by as much as 90% and minimizes load exposure to high temperature.

F0 calculation

The cycle time can further be reduced by using the F0 calculation which reduces the amount of heat energy the liquid is exposed to. The “equivalent kill effect” F0 value is calculated during the heat-up phase of a sterilization cycle thereby reducing total media exposure time. Sterilization exposure time begins when the slowest-to-heat load temperature sensor within the autoclave has reached a predetermined set temperature.

Air Removal & Drying

For glassware and pipette sterilization, a pre and post vacuum pump is used for the air removal and drying process.

Steam Streaming Isothermal Processing

For preparing agar and other biological media with a temperature range from 60°C to 95°C that allows for gentle heating and cooling down of agar.  Steam is allowed to enter the chamber and the fast exhaust valve is opened to allow steam to stream over the contents of the unit.
